Neuroscience and Change: Impacts on Accelerated Change Readiness

21 April

Join Dan Schmitz as he guides us through recent neuroscience, its impact on change, and how OTM utilizes the science in our Accelerated Change Readiness solution. Dan holds a Master of Science in Organization Development from Pepperdine University and his thesis used action research to understand how ideas borrowed from neuroscience can help people cope more effectively in common situations, such as those that occur in a workplace.

There are five domains of social experience that your brain treats as survival threats. When our brains treat workplace interactions as survival threats, we experience diminished cognitive capacity to remain present and make good choices. Organization change is fraught with such triggers. This interactive session will identify these domains of social experience, provide an example of an accommodative change process, and invite you into discussion to make the topic relevant to you.

OTM’s approach to change is built on the deeply held belief that “people support what they help create.” We use pull versus push tactics to achieve the most effective outcome. ACR© takes a disciplined, step-by-step approach focused on both changing the social system and technical systems simultaneously. Our solution ensures that your key and impacted stakeholders are ready for change, with a clear understanding of their role in it and how they can influence to lead.  ACR© is beneficial for implementing strategies, new software systems, changes in process or procedures, facilities changes and protocol, and much more.
